Good morning Year 5! How did you all get on with yesterday’s work? Don’t forget all children are able to get in touch with us by commenting on the blog. Parents or carers can get in touch by email if they like too – to speak to me it’s class11@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk or to Miss Bishop it’s class12@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk

Here is a reminder of today’s work…
Maths
‘Rounding Decimals’ lesson seven in your Power Maths books. Don’t forget to use the ‘discover’ guidance in your packs (the page you need is: week 2, lesson 4).

English
Today we would like you to complete the worksheet titled ‘Complete the Sentences with Modal Verbs’ from your home learning packs. Quite a lot of you forgot what modal verbs were in our recent assessment! Remember: modal verbs are verbs that indicate possibility or likelihood (examples: can/could, will/would, shall/should). Any problems with this then do comment below and I’ll get back to you with help!

Reading
Continue to read your copy of The Phantom Tollbooth (pages 189-194). We have copied the pictures of the pages below for you if you wanted to read them on the blog. What do you make of Milo’s adventures so far?

Spelling Practice
Keep practicing this week’s spellings. How did you get on with the arithmetic yesterday?

Geography
Miss Bishop and I would love to see how you’ve been getting on with your projects. Please get in touch on the blog or ask your parents to email us anything across so we can see your work. I hope you’ve found out some fascinating things about the Amazon Rainforest and enjoyed researching.

Other Ideas
Reading! I’ve been enjoying some time each day reading my book and I hope you’ve been doing this also. If you would prefer to listen to a book then do check out the free ones on Audible. There is also David Walliams’ daily read of his novels. Did anyone see him reading his new book ‘Slime’ on The One Show on Tuesday night?

We would really like to hear from you to see how you’re getting on with he work but more importantly to know you’re all ok. Please comment below 😊

Keep well,
Mr Stamp & Miss Bishop
