Hello Year 5! We hope you are all okay – we are missing seeing you all each day. We hope you’ve managed to complete all your work over the past 2 weeks. Remember we would love to hear from you – you can get in touch by commenting on our blog posts. Although there will be no work set over Easter, read below for some ideas for things to do.

Diary entry or letter to yourself
It would a great idea to write a letter or a diary entry reflecting on life over the last few weeks. Everyone’s lives have changed dramatically across the world; schools and shops have closed; people are at home; families are spending lots of time together. It has had a big impact on everyday life. You could write about what you have been doing, how you feel, things you have learnt and what you are looking forward to once life starts to go back to normal. This letter could be kept secret or hidden to be read in years to come!

Easter Cards
Make some Easter Cards to cheer up your family, friends or neighbours. Use the template to create your own. Decorate each line in a different pattern using a black pen or felt tip. Choose some glasses and make them colourful! Upload pictures in the comments and share your work.

Make an Easter acrostic poem
Can you make your poem rhyme, using interesting vocabulary or figurative language?

Make some Easter nests
Use Rice Krispies, Cornflakes or other cereal mixed with melted chocolate and top with Mini Eggs.

Scavenger Easter Hunt
Create your own clues and hide toys, chocolate or hand drawn Easter eggs and ask you family to find them!

Easter egg painting
Boil some eggs and get creative: paint the eggs in an Easter theme or even paint them as characters that tell a story.

Half animal Portraits
Find a picture of an animal or print one off if you have access to a printer (you can also do this with a photo of a person). Cut the picture in half and draw, colour or paint the other half! Class 11 do you remember doing this with your faces back at the end of Year 4?

Most of all remember keep busy, look after each other, stay home and be safe.
