Here is a reminder of your home learning tasks for today:

As part of your daily exercise this morning complete this 8 minute HIIT workout! I am going to give it a try too!

Reading – Read a few pages of one reading book and use the comprehension questions linked on the class page to check children’s understanding.  Please make sure you record any reads in the reading record as usual.

Fluency Complete set A or B of one of the fluency tasks.  Some of you do not have a sheet with Set A or B, please just choose one of the worksheets provided to complete (addition, subtracion, odd and even numbers, multiples of 2, 5 10)

Maths – In your Power Maths booklet complete the ‘Missing numbers‘ lesson.   Please find the worksheets below along with the discover guidance to help you if needed.

English – Read Anisha and The Queen from the Spring 2018 reading booklet and then complete pages 2-3 of the Paper 2 answer booklet.

Spellings – Practice your week 5 spellings (check your pack to see which ones you have to learn)

History – Make a poster all about Neil Armstrong using the facts you have learnt about him.  Find some examples below:

Don’t forget to email us any images of your work that you would like to share to the class emails – class5@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk and class6@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk.  We would love to see them!

Other ways to keep busy today:

      • Year 2 children now have their own account on Timestable Rockstars. Why not earn some gold coins and play with your class mates in some friendly competitions. You should have received an information sheet in your pack.  Your username will be the first 3 letters of your first name and the first 3 letters of your surname. Your password will be your date of birth. For example, if your name is William Smith and your date of birth is 13th April 2013, your username and password would be – wilsmi and 130413.
      • Hold Still, a portrait of our nation in 2020. The Duchess of Cambridge and the National Portrait Gallery have launched a photography project, aimed at capturing a snapshot of the UK during the coronavirus crisis. It is completely free and open to all ages and abilities. You can submit images inspired by three themes – Helpers and Heroes, Your New Normal and Acts of Kindness – by 18 June. For more information follow this link www.npg.org.uk/hold-still #HoldStill2020
      • Say the colour of each word!  This involves saying the colour of a word, rather than reading the word itself.

Keep updated daily for home learning reminders, helpful tips and more fun activities to keep you busy and motivated!

    See you all very soon!

    Miss Powers and Miss Sharp
