Good morning Year 1!

Another week of home learning is nearly completed! Here is a reminder of your home learning tasks for today:

Remember to keep active with Joe Wicks’ workout or why not try out some of the movement and mindfulness videos on  GoNoodle to get you ready for the day ahead!

Reading/Phonics: Tune into your daily Read Write Inc lesson.

Please see updated timetable below:

Maths

Complete pages 60-62 of your maths worksheets ‘Describing turns’.

Take a look at the Unit Overview below:

Use the textbook pages below to help you:

Story Setting description 2 activity sheet. Can you write a paragraph about the setting of the picture? Use they key words to help you or think of your own exciting adjectives to describe the arctic scene.
Remember to use your Super 6 (Capital letters, finger spaces, sounding out, neat handwriting, writing on the line and full stops.)

Afternoon:

10 minutes of mindfulness

Maths Fluency: Counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

Try doing the BBC Supermovers songs or Jack Hartmann on Youtube!

Spelling: High Frequency words. Parents/carers choose 5/6 HFW from the sheet in your home learning pack.

RHE Lesson 2: How to keep money safe.

Discuss the importance of keeping money safe. Where are safe places to keep money? (e.g. purse, bank, piggy bank). Complete ‘looking after my belongings’ sheet.

Draw one picture showing what is a special object to you and draw one picture to show how you look after it. 💵

Extra activity:

  • Have a go at the Little Bird Spelling game.
  • As it is local and community history month, why not take the time to take more notice of your surroundings. Go on your daily walk with an adult and try to complete the sheet by ticking off what you come across. We have learnt about different types of homes and their names this year! Can you remember the names of different types of home? What else can you remember?

Choose the sheet most suited to the surroundings you will find on your walk.

Local Walk: My observation list 1.
