On Wednesday afternoon Class Eleven investigated different materials and if they were conductors or insulators of electricity. First of all, we took part in a quiz to test our knowledge:

          

Then, the Class were challenged to find the best material to conduct electricity to make the floodlights for a local football team brighter.

Each team created a team name and then made a circuit by connecting a lightbulb to a battery via different materials.  We tested the conductivity of iron, aluminium, copper, a silver coin and steel:

            

From our investigations, we were able to make suggestions to the football team about the most suitable material to conduct electricity for the floodlights.

We drew our circuits to show our method:
