Today we carried out the first experiment of our working scientifically topic. Our question is, “What impact do sugary drinks on our teeth?”.
We used eggs to represent our teeth as they are made of calcium carbonate which is what egg shells are made of too! We poured 5 different drinks on top of our eggs – water, fresh orange juice, full fat coke, lucozade energy drink and skimmed milk – and we are leaving them for 48 hours to see their effect. Here are some of our predictions:
Zoe – I think water will make the egg shells shiny.
Sophie – I think the orange juice with turn the egg shell orange.
Kacy – I predict the coke with turn the egg shell brown and make it crack.
