Class 7 were given an interesting problem to help find a solution for. When humans go further and further into space, they will need to grow food to keep themselves alive. The soil they use to grow their food in will need to be very absorbent to make the most of the water, as they won’t want to waste it!
Which soil is best then? The class were given 6 soils to test and 30 seconds to do it in, using measuring cylinders to note down how many millilitres each soil held. We discussed fair testing and variables, which led to a very exciting investigation.
