Maths:

Can you compare two groups of objects or toys? Which has more, which has less, which has the same?

English:

Can you practise writing your name? Practise writing the initial letter of your name and practise forming the letter correctly. What letter is it? What sound does it make?

Phonics:

Build sentences orally.

Use the children’s growing vocabulary to build on sentences about photographs and real objects: animals, sea-creatures, flowers, clothing, soft toys, vegetables, fruit.

Choose a photograph or object and select two or three elements to focus on e.g. size, colour, feeling, smell.

For example, show the children a picture of a dog. Say two words aloud giving them a choice between them. Ask them to call out the word they want to use. Say the word in a full sentence. E.g. shall we say the dog is huge or enormous? This dog is enormous.

Project/Activity:

Build an indoor/outdoor den.

Finley has been practicing writing all the letters in his name today, I wrote each letter down first and he managed to copy all the letters underneath independently. He was very proud of himself. We made some play dough this morning and he made lots of shapes.
