This week in our language and communication lesson, we went with an important topic that relates to the Christmas time of year.

Do we have to see things for us to believe in them?

Some children brought up the tooth fairy, Santa, the Easter bunny and Mr Bishop suggested aliens and Bigfoot!

We took turns to explain whether we believed in these things without ever actually seeing them. This brought us onto religion and a discussion about God, where the idea is the same. Many people believe in God without seeing him.

This led us nicely into a discussion about ‘faith’ and why it is important to some people.

What do you think? Do you believe in anything that you haven’t seen before? Let class 7 know in the comments!

You can’t see the wind but you know it’s there because you can see what the wind is doing, for example moving the leaves on the trees.
