Last week, class 11 visited TOPPs (The Old Police Station) in Heywood centre. Whilst there, we took part in two activities. First, we painted large rocks in bright colours as part of a rock hiding activity which has been taking place around Heywood. People have been hiding their rocks for others to find and then send pictures with the rock they have found. We loved the idea so much we are going to carry out a ‘Harwood Rocks’ art project in the last week of term.

After this, we planted some different pots, some flowers and some vegetables and gave them a silly name. We we then shown around the old police stations, some of the old cell doors are still in the building exactly as they were left. Thank you to Ellen, Ania and the other TOPP’s staff for having us!

day in the community!
