Time for an investigation!

our current science topic is forces and magnets and this week our focus was on friction. We wanted to see evidence of how friction works against a certain force so we conducted an investigation.

We discussed fair testing and agreed on a hypothesis. We then set off equipped with our Newton Meters to test which surfaces created the least and the most friction using weighted buckets.

A soapy start with Morgan and Ethan

Another group tested how the friction on the carpet compared

We were surprised by just how difficult it was to pull the bucket along the floor outside

This gave our strongest measurement

I really enjoyed doing science because we did a cool experiment on friction and Lucas pulled a bucket along the concrete. Surprisingly to my hypothesis, outside was the roughest surface when I expected the carpet would be the roughest.

I wish we could do some more lessons on friction. I really like it so can we please do some more tomorrow.

I think that science was the best because we get to slide the bucket on the table. I really really like to do friction because it was really fun. I really want to do it again because i like to do my hypothesis.
