As part of their learning about Africa, Class 4 took part in a drumming workshop.

Iain, from BangDrum, came into school to show us how to play the djembe – a type of African drum. We learnt lots of different rhythms and used these to join in with an African song.

It was quite tricky – we had to avoid distraction and maintain our focus, looking at Iain while were playing. It was lots of fun though!

I like the drumming because it was easy for me and I liked the ice cream song we sang.

I like it because we went 1234 so we could keep the beat.
