Good Morning Class 9.

Today is World Chocolate Day. (My favourite day!)

This is a day to indulge in your favourite chocolate, whether it is chocolate milk, hot chocolate, a chocolate bar, chocolate cake, brownies or something covered in chocolate. Chocolate is hugely popular all over the world. It is said to have been first introduced in Europe on July 7, 1550.  Chocolate comes in different flavours, including milk, white and dark chocolate.  Some scientists now say that eating dark chocolate every day is better for you than eating vegetables.

Why not try some of these chocolatey activities.

Chocolate-Scented Play Dough
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup salt
1/2 tablespoon cream of tartar
1 1/2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 cup boiling water

Mix the dry ingredients. Add the oil and boiling water. Stir quickly, mixing well. When cool, mix with your hands. Store in an airtight container.

Science – Melted Chocolate
See how quickly the melted chocolate sets in small moulds. Use a stopwatch to time it. And then, of course, eat them after the experiment!

Baking

Satisfy your sweet tooth with this decadent chocolate treat.  This super squidgy chocolate fudge cake with smooth icing is an instant baking win. https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/naughty-chocolate-fudge-cake

Collage
Use empty chocolate wrappers to create a collage. You could use Easter eggs wrappers as well as everyday chocolate bars. Makes a very shiny picture.

Quiz

Can you name these chocolate bars?
