Good morning everyone!  Well, we’re now in week 2 of our home learning. I hope you’re all doing okay. Remember, as hard as this might seem right now, we will get through it and hopefully, we’ll be a better, stronger society when we do. I’m finding hope in some of the incredible stories of kindness I’m seeing on the news and online. I hope you are too.

Here are your tasks for today:

  • Daily Reading (at least ten minutes – please record in  your reading record)
  • Maths: Power Maths Unit 10, Lesson 6 Hundredths (1) (Pg 135-137)  Here’s the Discover guidance to help you (and if you’re struggling, check out this video)
  • English: Grammar – Types of Sentences
  • Spelling: Spelling Tiles Online Game (Click here)
  • Fluency: Multiplication practise
  • History: Begin your research into the Anglo Saxons or Vikings. Remember you need to include: a timeline showing when the Anglo-Saxon or Viking periods began and ended as well as information on:
    • Where they came from
    • What jobs they did
    • What their houses looked like
    • What they wore and the materials their clothes were made from
    • What they ate
    • Their religion (Who and how they worshipped)
    • Key figures (Anglo-Saxon and Viking Kings)
    • Key events and battles

There is plenty of information out there on the internet but these websites may help:

Don’t forget to leave a comment to let everyone know what you’ve been up to! If you’ve missed any of the home learning, it’s still available on the blog so make sure to go back and catch up (particularly with the Maths or you may be lost) If you have any questions about the work, please email me at class9@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk
