Good morning everyone! Well, we’re now in week 2 of our home learning. I hope you’re all doing okay. Remember, as hard as this might seem right now, we will get through it and hopefully, we’ll be a better, stronger society when we do. I’m finding hope in some of the incredible stories of kindness I’m seeing on the news and online. I hope you are too.
Here are your tasks for today:
- Daily Reading (at least ten minutes – please record in your reading record)
- Maths: Power Maths Unit 10, Lesson 6 Hundredths (1) (Pg 135-137) Here’s the Discover guidance to help you (and if you’re struggling, check out this video)
- English: Grammar – Types of Sentences
- Spelling: Spelling Tiles Online Game (Click here)
- Fluency: Multiplication practise
- History: Begin your research into the Anglo Saxons or Vikings. Remember you need to include: a timeline showing when the Anglo-Saxon or Viking periods began and ended as well as information on:
- Where they came from
- What jobs they did
- What their houses looked like
- What they wore and the materials their clothes were made from
- What they ate
- Their religion (Who and how they worshipped)
- Key figures (Anglo-Saxon and Viking Kings)
- Key events and battles
There is plenty of information out there on the internet but these websites may help:
- Something fun: Imagine you are a Lego engineer hired by NASA – they want you to build a new space rocket! (If you don’t have Lego, feel free to use another construction material). Email me photos of your creations too.
