Class 10 dressed as an array of different book characters this year including Gansta Granny, Mr Stink, Willy Wonka and Rodrick from Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Can you spot Wally?

What we got up to:

We began our World Book Day activities with a debate. Miss Wolf found some abandoned, mystery eggs in her garden and we had to discuss what animal they could have come from and what Miss Wolf should do with them.

We split up into 2 different teams – one team debating that Miss Wolf should leave the eggs alone and let them hatch and the other team debating that Miss Wolf should bring in the eggs and look after them. After a rocky start, Class 10 got into the debate and had a real good go at arguing their cause.

After this, Miss Wolf told us our focus text for today was ‘How To Train Your Dragon’. We looked in the story at how Hiccup tries to train his stubborn dragon Toothless using 6 different motivational approaches. We had a go at training our own unruly animals with a little role play. Watch the video below to see:

We finished off the day by designing our own dragons based on descriptions of black, red, blue and green dragons. The dragons were all described as revolting beings with different evil personalities. Some children used these descriptions to inspire their drawing, however others preferred to draw much brighter, colourful and cheery dragons.
