Good Morning Class 10. Today is National Writing Day.

National Writing Day is an annual celebration of writing designed to inspire people across the UK to get writing. Our message is simple: everyone has a story to tell and sharing it can be a source of pleasure and power. Join in by writing your own original piece on the day.

We want to get EVERYONE writing creatively for National Writing Day 24th June 2020 so we’ve created the #247challenge – a quick, fun and easy challenge to get your students’ creative cogs turning!
The challenge has three simple rules:
1. Write a story or poem in 24 words.
2. Start with the words ‘One day’.
3. You only have 7 minutes to write (but if you think this step is too tricky for you, do omit it – we just want everyone to have fun)!

Here is a reminder of your tasks for today:

  • Daily exercise: Joe Wicks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ
  • Reading: At least 20 mins – please record in your reading record
  • Maths: Multiples of Ten Challenge
  • English: Grammar – SPaG Mat 1
  • Spelling Practise: Year 3/4 words – pick 10 and find the definitions in a dictionary.
  • Something fun:
    • Help around the house. Ask an adult in your household if there are any jobs you can do/help with. It might be helping with the laundry, washing the car or even tidying your room.  Remember – you live there too, so it’s important to help out!

Don’t forget to leave a comment to let everyone know what you’ve been up to! If you’ve missed any of the home learning, it’s still available on the blog so make sure to go back and catch up.

If you have any questions about the work or want to send me photos or examples of the work you’ve been doing, please ask your parents to email me at class10@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk or you can leave a comment here on the blog.

Miss Reed 😀
