During our RE unit of work we have been looking at what different religions think happen when a person dies. This week the children have created their own mission statements to state how they will live their life and what they hope to achieve.
To celebrate National Poetry Day Class 14 made Blackout poems. They selected a piece of text from a story book, chose key words and blacked out the words they didn’t need. The results are stunning!
Year 6 have been designing and making children’s toys that use cams. Class 14 have been writing letters of condolence to members of the Royal Family. They studied the life of Queen Elizabeth II and after the funeral wrote a letter to express their sympathy.
Class 14 used a democratic process to elect their School Council representatives. 5 children wrote, then read out a speech to the class explaining the qualities they have and why they should be elected. The class then voted for two children in a private ballot. Ke Han and Jenson received Read more…
Class 14 have been learning how to keep safe when using the internet. They can identify features on a website that show the page is secure.
Today, Class 12 visited Newhouse Academy. We took part in a science experience day and learnt how to use a microscope.
Yesterday, Class 12 visited Liverpool World Museum. We explored all five floors and took part in a ‘mummy workshop’ teaching us about how to mummify a body.
Year 5 got to have a fantastic time at the Great Science Share with 5 other schools. We sampled lots of other experiments before demonstrating our own. Our experiment was bicarbonate volcanoes. We had a lot of fun changing the amounts of ingredients to see what’d happen.
