During a busy assessment week, Class 12 took some time out to take part in a yoga session. This was aimed to relax our minds and give us time to reflect and let go of any of our worries. We did a short meditation to finish it off.
Class 11 took part in a yoga session today to continue with Mental Health week and to help us with our assessment focus. Some children in Class 1 showed an interest in rolling hoops when playing outside, so in P.E. we have been practising rolling objects to one another. We started by rolling a ball to a partner, gradually increasing the distance between us. Then we practised rolling hoops to one another.

First morning netball session after half term spent testing out our new netball nets. We developed the correct position to shoot and miss Bishop was impressed with the amount of goals we scored. High 5 netball means we all have to play a mixture of positions including shooters!
Today we have been focusing on our ballencing skills and our tucks and pike stands. We have been using these skills along different surfaces. Some of us faced our fears on the high apparatus! Ask me if I can show you a balancing position that I learnt today.
On Friday we were exploring shape and movement in PE by thinking about the seasons and which animals we might see during this time. We really enjoyed spring and moving around like bunnies and popping up like the flowers. .
This term the children in Year 3 we will receiving specialised gymnastics training during their PE lessons from Beth Tweddle’s (Olympic medallist) gymnastic coaching company. Well done to Charlie in Class 11 for coming runner up in the Rugby ball design competition! Many schools and children took part in designing a Christmas rugby ball for Rochdale Hornets. Charlie was so excited to win and meet the mascot – Hercules the Hornet!
