Valley Group faced their fears this afternoon in the Trapeze Challenge. They had to climb to the top of a tall tower before jumping off and catching the trapeze bar.

Today, the children in class 4 have been partitioning two-digit numbers into tens and ones. They looked closely at the digits and worked out their value so they could correctly make the number from the base-10 equipment. Filip even challenged himself by partitioning 100.
Class 6 are have been thinking about working cooperatively. After thinking carefully about what cooperative learning looks like, they had to work cooperatively with their partner to make the tallest tower they could with marshmallows and sticks of dried spaghetti. Today, the children in Class 4 have been working in pairs/small groups to solve a problem. They used the strategy of simplifying a promblem to sort out the information and used one clue at a time to work out what order the singers in the X Factor queue should be in. Read more…
