Harmonic Violins

We had an amazing start to our music lessons this week by trying out a new instrument, violins! We had a go at playing 4 different notes and even got to play a composition called “trick or treat”.

Pitch Perfect!

We have rounded off our Science topic on sound this week by investigating pitch. Frist we got out the glockenspiels and investigated how the pitch of each note was different and why that might be. We concluded that the pitch changed depending on the length of the keys. The longer Read more…

Squiggle while you wiggle

‘Squiggle while you wiggle’ is a fun way for children to develop their fine and gross motor skills whilst encouraging early writing. Children use both hands to make circles and lines whilst wiggling to music. This week we used chalk and chalk boards to make the marks.  

Choir Christmas Performances 2021

Music Mayhem – Jazz in Class 13

This term in music, Class 13 are looking at different Jazz composers alongside the variety of music they have looked at in previous years. This week, we were able to test out our skills on the glockenspiels and  began learning our first Jazz piece.

In Music this week, Class 13 have performed their song Happy. We all rehearsed together as a Class and then we tried to add some different parts to make it sound even better! Move over Pharrell Williams, Class 13 are here!

This half term, the children have been learning about hip hop music. They have listened and appraised songs, identified instruments played and started to play instruments to a song called Hey You!
