In DT this half term, we’ve been studying foods from around the globe. We’ve sampled a variety of ingredients and researched recipes from a range of cultures. After selecting our favourite ingredients, cooking methods and utensils, we became culinary geniuses and rustled up the most delicious stir-fry known to humankind.
This half term in DT, Class 13 have been planning a Christmas buffet. They had to consider traditional Christmas foods, allergies and other dietary needs as well as cost. Last week we visited the school kitchen to find out how our lunches are made. We really enjoyed seeing all the different parts of the kitchen. Then we made our own pretend canteen and played at serving lunches to our friends!

Our D&T project this half term is pizza making. Today, we explored the appearance, smell, taste and texture of supermarket bought pizzas and evaluated them. We enjoyed them all but especially enjoyed the BBQ chicken pizza and everyone was adventurous enough to try the spinach and ricotta pizza!
This week Class 6 have had a great start to the school year! Year Three improved their fabulous sewing skills this Summer term in Design and Technology. They made their own purses and wallets out of felt. They learnt about different stitches and fastenings and decorated their products to fit their design criteria.
